FAQ

Frequently asked questions about collecting through Cactus Moon Studio, including enquiries, shipping, logistics, and collector services.

  • Enquiries & Sales

How do I enquire about an artwork?
Use the “Enquire” button on the relevant artwork page, or write to us directly at info@cactusmoon.studio. We’ll come back to you promptly with availability and any further details.

How do I purchase an artwork?
Once you confirm your interest through the enquire button, WhatsApp, or email, we’ll guide you through the purchasing process. Our Registrar will provide a shipping quote, and once that’s agreed, we’ll issue an invoice and arrange secure payment.

Can you assist with building a collection?
Yes. We work closely with collectors at every stage — whether you’re acquiring your first work or adding to an established collection. We’re happy to advise on individual acquisitions or take a longer view.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfer (SWIFT/BACS) and major credit cards. Payment details are provided at the point of invoice. For international transactions, we’re happy to agree on the most practical arrangement.

Is it possible to pay in instalments?
Yes, we’re happy to work on instalment plans, and typically can offer up to a 3-month equal instalment plan when requested. Please get in touch and we’ll arrange the right structure for your purchase.

    How are prices determined?
Prices are set in close consultation with each artist, reflecting their current primary market level.

    Can I commission a work?
Cactus Moon Studio focuses on existing works selected for our exhibitions, and we do not facilitate commissions through the platform.

  • Shipping & Logistics

    Do you ship internationally?
    Yes, we ship worldwide.

    How is shipping arranged?
Shipping is arranged separately after purchase, handled by our dedicated Registrar who specialises in fine art logistics. They’ll coordinate everything and provide accurate quotes based on the work, its destination, and your insurance and delivery requirements.

    How long does shipping take?
Timelines vary depending on the work’s location, the destination, and customs clearance. Most international shipments take 1 - 4 weeks. We’ll provide a clear estimate once arrangements are confirmed.

  • Delivery & Artwork Handling

    Where are artworks shipped from?
Most works ship directly from the artist’s studio. This is intentional - it means fewer handling stages, and a lighter environmental impact.

    How are artworks packaged?
All works are packed to professional fine art standards. Condition and presentation on arrival are taken seriously at every stage.

    Will I receive tracking information?
Yes, tracking details are provided as soon as your shipment is in transit.

    Do you provide condition reports?
Yes, on request. We’re happy to provide condition reports along with additional images and videos of the work as needed. The works on the platform are always new works held at the artist’s studio, always in pristine condition.

Can I return a work if it’s not as expected?
We encourage collectors to request all available images, videos, and documentation before confirming a purchase - we’re thorough about what we share, and we want you to feel confident in your decision. If a work arrives damaged or materially differs from its description, contact us immediately and we’ll resolve it.

  • Collector Experience

What is the experience of collecting through Cactus Moon Studio?
Cactus Moon Studio is built around direct access - to the work, to the artists, and to practices at meaningful points in their development. Each exhibition is tightly curated and accompanied by commissioned texts, video content, and studio documentation. The aim is for collectors to feel close to the work and the practice - not just acquiring a piece, but entering a relationship with the artist and the broader programme.

How does Cactus Moon Studio differ from a traditional gallery?
We operate online without a fixed exhibition space, which means we can work with artists across geographies and present a continuous programme - two new exhibitions every month - without the constraints of a physical calendar. Works ship directly from the artist’s studio to the collector, which means lighter logistical and environmental costs, fewer handling stages, and a higher share of each sale supporting the artist directly.

Each exhibition is treated as a serious curatorial moment, accompanied by commissioned writing and studio documentation. We’re not a marketplace - we’re a curated platform built around the slow encounter with the work.

    How are artists selected?
Cactus Moon Studio is the curatorial extension of Taymour Grahne Projects, which has spent over a decade championing artists at pivotal stages of their careers. The platform draws on a network of artist relationships built through studio visits, biennials, degree shows, and the recommendations of artists we already work with. The unifying principle is the quality of the work and the strength of our conviction about it.

Can I request additional images or information?
Of course. We can supply detailed photography, condition information, and contextual material - whatever helps you make a considered decision.

Can I view works in person?
The platform is primarily digital, but in some instances we can arrange viewings directly at the artist’s studio. Get in touch and we’ll let you know what’s possible.

Do you provide certificates of authenticity?
Yes, all works are accompanied by certificates of authenticity issued by the gallery.

Can you assist with framing or installation?
We can advise on both and point you towards appropriate solutions depending on the work and where you are.

Do you assist with resale or the secondary market?
Cactus Moon Studio focuses on primary sales, but Taymour Grahne Projects has experience in the secondary market and is happy to assist with resale enquiries. Please get in touch to discuss.

How do I stay informed about new exhibitions?
Sign up to our mailing list via the website and follow @cactusmoonstudio on Instagram. We release new exhibitions twice a month and share updates on artists, available works, and the broader programme.

  • Compliance & Due Diligence

Will I need to provide identification when purchasing a work?
For purchases above €10,000, yes. As a UK-based business we’re required to carry out standard Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and due diligence checks under UK Proceeds of Crime and AML regulations. This typically means a valid form of ID and proof of address dated within the last three months. It’s a routine part of the process.

    How is my information handled?
All documentation is collected via encrypted links and treated with complete confidentiality. It’s a one-time process and won’t be required again for future purchases.

  • Applicable Taxes & VAT

Will I need to pay tax or VAT on my purchase?
Cactus Moon Studio is UK-based, and applicable taxes vary by location and the nature of the sale. UK collectors may be subject to VAT where applicable. International collectors should expect that local taxes, import duties, or VAT may be levied on arrival.

Will you provide guidance on this?
Yes. As part of every sale, we provide a clear breakdown of likely import taxes and duties ahead of purchase, so you know the full landed cost before committing. The final amounts are determined by local regulations and paid by the buyer, but we make sure there are no surprises.
